Spalted Beech is one of the most visually striking timbers found in the UK. The delicate, jet-black 'ink lines' running through the creamy grain are a natural phenomenon, created during the wood's seasoning process. This means that no two coasters are ever the same each set is a unique piece of abstract art created by nature herself. Hand-turned in our workshop, these coasters are crafted from carefully selected timber where the spalting is at its most dramatic.
 
Despite their delicate appearance, Beech is a dense, heavy-duty hardwood that provides a rock-solid foundation for your drinks. We've hand-sanded these to a glass-smooth finish to ensure the intricate patterns truly 'pop' against the pale timber. Perfect for the person who values the rare, the rustic, and the completely unique.
 
Material: 100% Solid Spalted British Beech.
Finish: Hand-sanded and finished with organic, food-safe oils to preserve and protect the natural 'ink' lines.
Unique Feature: Every coaster features a completely distinct pattern of natural spalting lines.
Care: Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not soak. Apply a light coat of food-safe oil every few months to keep the grain vibrant.
